Scott Liu, der Chef von E-Ink, dem größten Hersteller der Bildschirme für elektronische Lesegeräte, kündigt Farbdisplays/Touchscreens an. 2 neue Displays mit einer kapazitiven bzw. elektromagnetischen Touchlösung hat E-Ink zum Testen an Kunden ausgeliefert.
Bereits zum Jahresende werden erste Geräte und auch E-Book-Reader mit den Displays auf den Markt kommen.
Der chinesische Hardwarehersteller Hanvon hat noch für dieses Jahr einen entsprechenden E-Book-Reader angekündigt.
Scott Liu erwartet, dass 2011 10% der verkauften E-Book-Reader einen Farbbildschirm haben werden.

Wer eine farbige Darstellung wünscht muss zurzeit noch auf ein Tablett, wie das deutlich teurere Apple iPad (ab ca. 500 Euro) zurückgreifen.
